When thinking of Berlin in winter, the first thought of weather is inevitable. However, Berlin can also be very different. Wondering what to do in the capital at that time? We have put together the best recommendations for you during February and a few tips for the upcoming Valentine’s Day.

The Berlin International Film Festival, or Berlinale for short, will take place from February 10th to 20th, 2022. The annual film festival is one of the largest public film festivals in the world and attracts tens of thousands of visitors from all over the world every year. The Gendarmenmarkt is one of the most beautiful places for a romantic dinner for two and for relaxing and dreaming. There, different restaurants offer the opportunity for an unforgettable visit.

The Humboldthain, one of the highest points in Berlin, offers you a fantastic view over the whole city. The special feature: the geometrically arranged hedges of yew and boxwood structure the garden and when the light breaks through the many treetops in the evening, you experience something extraordinary. In summer you can marvel at the lush and colorful blossoms of around 15,000 roses.

With its 43 hectares, the botanical garden is not only worth seeing in summer. In winter, too, the plant world from East Asia, the tropics or Africa offers many remarkable things. A nice walk can easily be combined with admiring the flora.
