We want to make the world a better place. To always be thinking about the wider picture. That’s why we take responsibility for our impact on the planet by supporting local communities and always push ourselves to do better.

How we’re making change

Our Hotels

We’ve created robust environmental and social programs to help reduce our energy usage and the resources each hotel needs.

Our progress so far

  • We use 100% renewable energy across all our hotels in the UK, Netherlands, Germany, Croatia, Hungary and Austria.
  • All our UK, Dutch, German and Croatian properties have environmental sustainability and social responsibility certifications from the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC).
  • Meetings held at our properties are all 100% carbon neutral.

 

What we’re working on

  • Detailed climate risk assessments for all our properties.
  • Improved waste management practices.
  • Removing all single-use plastics and paper from hotel rooms.

Our Local Communities

We champion our neighbours and partners in the local area through fundraisers and volunteering, as well as employment and development opportunities.

Our progress so far

  • We have created over 1,000 new jobs and apprenticeships.
  • Our properties in the Netherlands host refugees and support homeless shelters.
  • Since 2023, we’ve helped raise over £150,000 for Just a Drop, providing clean water, sanitation and hygiene projects in South-East Asia, Africa and Latin America.

Our Suppliers

We develop long-term relationships with our suppliers to ensure our impact on the environment, economy and society is a net positive one.

Our progress so far

  • As part of the TFCD report, we carry out a yearly assessment of climate-related risks and carbon emissions for our supply chain.
  • Engaging with specific suppliers to understand the sustainability of fish stocks and ensure our menus do not contribute over over-fishing.

 

What we’re working on

  • Establishing sourcing policies to improve the environmental and social profile of the products we purchase to ensure we achieve net zero by 2040.
