My Gender. My Pride Amsterdam 2022

From 30 July to 7 August, Amsterdam is again in full glory, glitter, and colour. For nine days in a row love in all her forms is being celebrated. Love for who we are, and love for whomever we would love to love. As the city is packed with people – and having a bit of a plan is not a luxury – we have listed a few of our favourite go-to’s for these days. Plenty of stuff to see and to do, so here we go!

Pride Walk

The official opening of Pride Amsterdam 2022 starts with a Pride Walk on Saturday, July 30th. The Pride Walk is not just a festive opening. It serves as a political and social outing. Starting off with a demonstration at 11:00h at Damsquare which draws attention to the situation of LGBTIs in countries where homosexuality is included in the penal code, by carrying the flags of those countries. After the demonstration the actual pride walk throughout the city hits of at 12:00h.

Canal Parade

The main event of these nine festive days cannot be missed in this list: the famous canal parade. This year the organization’s aim is to really reflect everyone and let anyone feel included in this canal parade more than ever before. The Pride Amsterdam canal parade takes place on Saturday, August 6th, at Oosterdok, and moves forward through the canals of Nieuwe Herengracht, Amstel, Prinsengracht, and Westerdok. Make sure to be in time and get yourself a good spot for this eye candy show.

Street parties

As we mentioned, the streets of Amsterdam turn into a glittery rainbow, not for no reason. There are being parties hosted everywhere. The so-called infamous Pride Street parties take place from August 3rd – August 7th ending with a closing party at Damsquare. An overview of the Pride Street parties can be found here.

Pride at the beach

Pride at the Beach is a colourful 3 days LGBTI+ festival in Zandvoort and is part of Pride Amsterdam. Join the parties in Zandvoort, for fun, sun & diversity. There will be a parade, music, culture, a beach walk, art, drag queens, yoga, films and dance!
