The Magic of Winter in Berlin

Park Plaza’s top tips for a festive experience in Germany’s capital

It’s that time of year again, winter is just around the corner. Various attractions in the German capital offer a unique atmosphere at this wonderful time of year. We have put together a few options here to give you a brief overview. Let’s immerse ourselves in the magic of winter in Berlin:

Explore the Botanical Garden

In addition to the numerous Christmas markets that open their doors in November, the Botanical Garden, for example, offers a glowing winter world with all kinds of light shows, dream forests and 3D illuminated figures from 20 November until 12 January 2024. In the “Christmas Garden”, visitors can spend a wonderful evening in dreamlike surroundings on a walk of around one and a half kilometres, accompanied by musical sounds.

See the lights at the Zoo

From 22 November to 12 January 2025, “Christmas in the zoo”, a sparkling light installation and specially composed sound designs that will put visitors in a fairy tale mood, offers a wonderful alternative. Let the glowing illuminations whisk you away into a glittering winter world and experience a fantastically illuminated, almost two-kilometre-long circular trail through Europe’s largest landscape zoo.

Pamper yourself with a sauna visit

Winter is also the time to really pamper yourself. Berlin offers a large selection of saunas and thermal baths. We recommend a visit to the Liquidrom. For example, the “Float with lights” event takes place there every Tuesday. Colourful light balls illuminate the entire sauna and spa landscape after dusk. Changing DJs play the finest house vibes. As you can see, there’s plenty to try out.

And the best place to stay to get in on the action? Park Plaza. Explore all our Berlin properties and book your winter stay today.
